A family history reported in a 1914 book and a subsequent family publication printed in 1935 stated our family descended from Sgt. John Harris of the 2nd VA Charter. No proof was provided in either of these publications and several generations were skipped. We now have dna evidence that this information was not correct. Unfortunately, many continue to use the earlier publications rather than change their records.
